Words of Comfort

Jesus said, “I leave you peace; my peace I give you. I do not give it to you as the world does. So don't let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27

In truth, if we seek happiness from selfish motives, it will soon evaporate and we will eventually find ourselves lonely again. However, by seeking happiness in Christ, we will be filled with joy and peace that will carry us through this life's challenges.

We can find strength be remembering all of the things the Lord has done for us in the past. He has shown us mercy, eased our pain, wiped away our tears, removed anxieties, dispelled fear, and provided our daily needs. We can move forward knowing that God will give us the strength to endure whatever challenge we will face.

“Then the King will say to the people on his right, ‘Come my Father has given you his blessing. Receive the kingdom God has prepared for you since the world was made.” Matthew 25:34. Yes, soon the gates of heaven will be thrown open and we will be greeted with those words. At that time we will be reunited with others who have defeated Satan and via divine grace inherited perfect characters. Won't it be nice when we exchange our sinful natures for ones that are in complete harmony with Christ? I'm looking forward to that day, too.
