I sometimes struggle to have a strong prayer life. I know that prayer is important yet it's easy to work quickly through this part of my worship to race on to other things. Jesus, who was perfect, spent a large amount of his time in prayer, which signals it's importance. Here are some examples of Jesus' prayer time: “Early the next morning, while it was still dark, Jesus woke and left the house. He went to a lonely place, where he prayed.” Mark 1:35 . “…, but Jesus often slipped away to be alone so he could pray” Luke 5:16 . “At that time Jesus went off to a mountain to pray, and he spent the night praying to God” Luke 6:12. Wow! It's difficult for me to imagine praying for an hour let alone all night. On the other hand, prayer is a direct communication line to God who can help us in all things. God anxiously awaits our prayers and he is eager to help us. Now that is good news. One thing I can always use more of is wisdom. Thankfully God freely offers this, too. James 1:5 says, “But if any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it…He is generous and enjoys giving to all people, so he will give you wisdom.”
